Raymond A. Smith

Mr. Smith started Jet Aircraft Management in 2006 to provide technical expertise to aircraft owners, flight departments, brokers and management companies on an as-needed basis for short or long term assignments.  After thirty years of aviation employment in positions relating to all facets of corporate jet maintenance and maintenance management in the USA and abroad the time was right to start Jet Aircraft Management.

As Director of Maintenance Mr. Smith oversaw the maintenance of a busy Gulfstream operating primarily in the Far East and around the Pacific Rim.  As Chief Inspector he ran an FAA Certified Repair Station for a large corporation consisting of large cabin and mid sized jet aircraft and large helicopters.  As Technician he provided hands-on inspection, troubleshooting and repair of airframe, engine, and avionics systems.

Mr. Smith has been an active member of Gulfstream’s advisory boards, one of which developed the MSG-3 maintenance program for the GIV, another which targeted corrosion issues and helped develop successful programs for aging aircraft.

Mr. Smith is licensed by the FAA as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician, with both airframe and power plant ratings.  He holds a private pilots license and is a member of  NBAA, AOPA, and EAA.
